ALDO HOXHA

His work contributes to matters including business immigration, family and private life applications, British nationality, protection claims, detention, bail matters and appeals.

Aldo is fluent in Albanian, English, and Greek, supporting clients with cross-border links to the United Kingdom, Greece, and Albania.

He holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Greenwich and an MSc in International Commercial Law from the University of New York Tirana. He is admitted as a lawyer in Albania.

SAIMIR KUMRIJA

Saimir Kumrija works within the firm’s immigration team. His work is focused on the structured preparation and coordinated progression of immigration matters as part of the firm’s internal case management framework.

He supports the firm’s solicitors and other regulated legal professionals through case preparation, procedural coordination, and departmental workflow management. Saimir is involved across different stages of case progression, with particular focus on document preparation, procedural organisation, and internal case structuring. His role is centred on operational coordination and case support within the firm’s supervised working environment.

His work contributes to matters including business immigration, family and private life applications, British nationality, protection claims, detention, bail matters and appeals.

Saimir is fluent in Albanian, English, and Italian, supporting clients with cross-border links to the United Kingdom, Albania, and Italy.

He holds a Master’s degree in Legal Sciences from the University of Rome Tor Vergata (2015) and is admitted as a lawyer in Albania.

PALWASHA MARIA HEIDAR

Solicitor

Maria is a Senior Immigration Solicitor, qualified in 2013, practising exclusively in Immigration and Nationality Law. She serves as Immigration Supervisor, overseeing legal standards and compliance within the Immigration Department.

Maria provides legal supervision across a wide range of immigration matters, ensuring all casework aligns with SRA standards, Home Office requirements, and the firm’s internal procedures. Her experience includes business immigration, family and private life applications, British nationality, protection claims, detention, bail matters and appeals.

Her role combines legal oversight, regulatory compliance, and quality control, supporting both clients and caseworkers while helping maintain high professional and performance standards across the department.

Sheila Bowden

Stephen Fitzgerald

As a member of The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (F.C.I.L.E.X.) for over 20 years, Steve has been qualified as a Fellow since January 2012 and has spent the majority of his career working in Debt Recovery, with over two decades of experience practicing in this field, specialising in Civil Litigation

Steve has acted for organisations such as Financial Institutions & Insolvency Practitioners in secured and un-secured lending; Local Government Bodies; Councils; Private Schools; Fashion Houses; National Utility Companies; a Nationwide Car Rental Company; Local Businesses and also Private Clients.

Joseph Bowden

Joseph is involved in the preparation of complex and serious cases at Bowden Jones. He has worked on cases at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, since 2021, and he is involved in the preparation of cases before the Crown Court and Arbitration Tribunals.

Daniel Bowden

Daniel joined Bowden Jones after graduating with a 2:1 LLB (Hons) Law Degree from Liverpool University and is currently studying for the Legal Practice Course.

Daniel represents clients in the Police Station and assists in the preparation of client’s cases both in the U.K. and in international cases.

India Lesbirel

India is a Trainee Solicitor at Bowden Jones, she worked as a Paralegal and is due to qualify as a Solicitor in December 2025.

India works within the Prison Law Department and the Police Station and Crown Court Department, working with in house advocates and external Counsel to ensure clients cases are fully prepared for trial.

Susan Joyce

Susan was with Bowden Jones in 2003 at is foundation and works as both an office manager and legal assistant.

Susan has a wealth of experience of assisting clients, in criminal and civil litigation cases.

Sarah Carter

Sarah has over 25 years experience in working in busy Criminal Law Teams. Sarah has been with Bowden Jones Solicitors since 2013 and is a highly skilled Legal Assistant who is able to deal with all matters relating to Criminal Defence.

Sarah has particular expertise in Prison Law matters, dealing with issues that arise for clients in both the U.K. and internationally.

Lauren Chambers

Lauren has been with Bowden Jones for over 10 years, Lauren was a Trainee Solicitor with Bowden Jones and since qualification she has qualified as a Duty Solicitor and is the Prison Law Supervisor within the firm.

Lauren is a Youth Court specialist and deals with Serious Crime allegations before the Crown Court, instructing both in house advocates and working with a wide range of external Counsel.

Rhiannon Palmer

Rhiannon is a specialist Criminal Defence Lawyer. Rhiannon has more than 20 years’ experience working in busy law firms and has been with Bowden Jones Solicitors since 2003.

Rhiannon has extensive experience in dealing with cases ranging from minor road traffic offences to more serious criminal matters. Rhiannon is a specialist Prison Law Lawyer and is able to offer advice in all matters relating to Criminal Law and Prison Law work.

Huw Bowden

Huw qualified as a Solicitor in 1996, and his practice covers a broad range of disciplines. He is a Solicitor Advocate and represents individuals, companies and nation states, across the UK and internationally.

Huw specialises in white collar and Serious Crime. Since 2019, Huw has been an approved Counsel at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, where he has acted as Counsel for clients since 2020.

Huw is instructed at every stage of proceedings with the initial and early stages of investigations being particularly important. Huw’s considerable experience and knowledge is used to ensure the best outcome and disposal for his clients. Huw has significant experience of dealing with NCA/FCA/SFO prosecutions and of regulatory investigations and prosecutions.

Post charge, Huw’s careful and considered case management has secured many acquittals and his work post-conviction in Proceeds of Crime Act proceedings is highly sought after. A long history of appellate work in partnership with our Appeals Team has secured both successful appeals and CCRC referrals.

Stephen Jones

Steve specialises in all areas of Criminal Law with an emphasis on serious violent crime and drug related offences. A specialist Criminal Lawyer with extensive experience in dealing with cases of serious fraud and white collar crime. Steve has represented Corporate clients in Regulatory and Criminal Defence work. 

Steve qualified as a Solicitor in 1993 and has worked in South Wales and nationally as a Senior Criminal Solicitor Advocate.   Steve is a Solicitor Advocate with Higher Rights and has also lectured for South Wales, Gwent and Dyfed Powys Constabularies. Steve has had an increasing presence in Data Protection and Regulatory work and is regarded as one of the country’s leading lawyers in Cyber Security.
