Steve specialises in all areas of Criminal Law with an emphasis on serious violent crime and drug related offences. A specialist Criminal Lawyer with extensive experience in dealing with cases of serious fraud and white collar crime. Steve has represented Corporate clients in Regulatory and Criminal Defence work. Steve qualified as a Solicitor in 1993 and has worked in South Wales and nationally as a Senior Criminal Solicitor Advocate.   Steve is a Solicitor Advocate with Higher Rights and has also lectured for South Wales, Gwent and Dyfed Powys Constabularies. Steve has had an increasing presence in Data Protection and Regulatory work and is regarded as one of the country’s leading lawyers in Cyber Security.  In addition, Stephen is also a member of the Fraud Lawyers Association (FLA).

Huw has over 20 years’ experience and his practice covers a broad range of disciplines. He is a Solicitor Advocate and represents individuals and companies across the UK. Huw specialises in white collar and serious crime and heads the Serious Crime Team at Bowden Jones. Huw is instructed at every stage of proceedings with the initial and early stages of investigations being particularly important. Huw’s considerable experience and knowledge is used to ensure the best outcome and disposal for his clients. Post charge, Huw’s careful and considered case management has secured many acquittals and his work post-conviction in Proceeds of Crime Act proceedings is highly sought after. A long history of appellate work in partnership with our Consultant, Glyn Maddocks in our Prison Law and Appeals Team has secured both successful appeals and CCRC referrals.  In addition, Huw is also a member of the Fraud Lawyers Association (FLA).

Marie joined Bowden Jones Solicitors at the end of 2014 as the Firm’s Business & Finance Director. Previously Marie headed up the HR function at a large Regional law firm, before specialising in European Compensation & Benefits at a global South Wales based manufacturing organisation.

Working closely with the Firm’s other Directors and Management Team, Marie is responsible for both the strategic and operational management of Bowden Jones Solicitors, its finances and its people.

Marie is a graduate of Cardiff University with a degree in Business Management. Marie is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Rhiannon is a specialist Criminal Defence Lawyer and Duty Solicitor and an expert in dealing with the Youth Justice System. Rhiannon has more than 15 years’ experience working in busy law firms and was with Bowden Jones Solicitors at the outset. Rhiannon has been involved in all aspects of Family and Care work however has concentrated in the past five years in Criminal Law matters. Rhiannon has extensive experience in dealing with cases ranging from minor road traffic offences to more serious criminal matters. Rhiannon is a specialist Prison Law Lawyer and is able to offer advice in all matters relating to Criminal Law and Prison Law work.

Sarah has over 15 years experience in working in busy Criminal Law Teams. Sarah has been with Bowden Jones Solicitors since 2013 and is a highly skilled Legal Assistant who is able to deal with all matters relating to Criminal Defence.

STEPHEN FITZGERALD (F.C.I.L.E.X) – Senior Legal Executive- Year Joined: 2019

As a member of The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (F.C.I.L.E.X.) for over 20 years, Steve has been qualified as a Fellow since January 2012 and is committed to his continuing personal development by attending training courses and seminars that are applicable to his role, regularly reading legal journals and articles to keep abreast of current developments within his area of expertise, enhancing competence in his role and providing sound advice to clients.

Steve is highly motivated, ambitious and a hardworking individual, with a positive and flexible approach to work and a great desire to succeed. He has great communication, organisational and research skills – with a logical approach to problem solving and exercising sound judgment in making appropriate decisions.

He has spent the majority of his career working in Debt Recovery, with over two decades of experience practicing in this field, specialising in Civil Litigation and having worked at three of the region’s leading Private Sector Law Firms. Steve has acted for organisations such as Financial Institutions & Insolvency Practitioners in secured and un-secured lending; Local Government Bodies; Councils; Private Schools; Fashion Houses; National Utility Companies; a Nationwide Car Rental Company; Local Businesses and also Private Clients.

Mark Church Bio

Mark has worked as a Litigation Specialist since qualifying in 1992 and therefore has 30 plus years of experience. He was a Partner in a leading Welsh firm and in later years went on to work as a Consultant Lawyer and is now an employee of Bowden Jones.

During his career he has had conduct of high value litigation in the High Court and in the County Court.

The focus of his practice has been in respect of Personal Injury Claims/ Clinical Negligence Claims. He has considerable experience in almost all aspects of Personal injury work from modest claims to many catastrophic and complex claims.

Mark has also undertaken Commercial Litigation / General Litigation claims both for the Claimant`s and the Defendant`s. He has been involved in numerous cases which have been dealt with through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

Mark has substantial experience in Court of Protection matters.

He endeavours to work with my clients and understand them, his aim is to be approachable but forensic in his approach to the litigation and the factual issues.
